Yard Maintanance

Featured Replies

Hello all that read this,

I am just having a house built for a holiday home i will only be there once a year with the in laws visiting most months to check on things and to use the house at the weekends on R&R from Bangkok, was wondering if any of you guys know what would be the best way to maintain the yard while we are away? we have considered getting some battery powered sprinkler timing system to help keep the grass alive and to water the flowers but what would you expats that have experience of being away from your Thai home do? considering your in-laws are a few hours away what plants would be best ?what trees are low maintenance? and what the best grass seed to use ?would be really helpful and anything else you can think of that may be of help?

its not being built on a moo bann any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated also do you have any landscaping crews come around can they be trusted and what do they usually charge?

Thank you

IMO you really want someone staying in there if you're gonna be away for long periods of time.

If you're in-laws & family are Thai get one of them to move in full time and look after it, if you can trust them ( chances are there is at least one of them without a job, probably more ). They will be more than happy to watch TV, eat and sleep all day in a nice house.
