phuturatica
Can you still get a 2-3 month tourist visa for Thailand from Vientiane, Laos? My friend mentioned that she used to do this earlier on this year, was just wondering if it was still available and if so, how much does it all cost roughly? I arrive in Bangkok on November 2nd and I will have to get a tourist visa for the time being until I get a job (Yes I am another one of those EFL teachers.) I have been given the options to get a 60 day visa from the Thai Embassy in London, UK for £28 or I can get a 6 month visa with 3 entires (meaning I have to leave the country every 60 days and come back in.) for £94 from Hull (far away from where I am!) I'm trying to work out what the best and cheapest option is. Also if I have to leave in 60 days, it means I will have to leave the country in between Christmas and New Year and ideally I don't want to be worrying about visa's during this special time of the year. So Can I get it extended in Bangkok and if so, how much for a month or so? Sorry for all the questions!
TerryLH
"...for £94 from Hull (far away from where I am!)" You can do it by mail. Each 60 day tourist visa can be extended at an immigration office for 30 days. 1900 baht.
Lite Beer
A triple entry tourist visa from Hull will get you almost 9 months with extensions and 2 border runs.
visarunner
in your case arrange the Tourist Visa from Hull and you have afterwards plenty of time to sort yourself out once in Thailand. Please keep in mind the visa is valid for 6 month after issue. With carefully planning you can stay for up to 9 month on this visa.
phuturatica
Cheers for this information! How would I be able to make this visa last for 9 months?
lopburi3
Issued 1 July - enter 2 July for 60 days + extend 30 days exit/return for new 60 days + extend for about 27 days exit/return (prior to six month expiration) for new 60 days + extend for 30 days = almost 9 months stay. Mooner
So do you apply for the extension before or when you are at the border after your first two months.
lopburi3
You don't go to any border - only for exit/return - for extension of stay you visit the local immigration office and fill out a TM.7 form and pay 1,900 baht.
