Work Permit / Visa Run Query

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have a quick question.

If one has been travelling and staying in Thailand on and off for 5 years with non immigrant O visa and completing visa runs every 3 months and has now found a fulltime job with work visa sponsorship with a reputable firm would you still need to do visa run every three months or not?

Can someone please give me an answer on this?

thanks

Extension of stay is available to many having employment in Thailand if for an established company and earning the required wage for extension (50k per month for most western countries). Has you inquired with company? Or immigration?

If marriage to a Thai that could also be an extension of stay path.

Extension of stay are one year at a time but do require 90 day address reports be made if remain in country.

I am looking for a YES / NO answer on this.............

working now full time - with work visa sponsorship would you need to do visa run?

Sorry, DEPENDS is the best you gonna get.

It would depend on whether you had a Visa or an Extension of stay.

As said, it depends. The most important factor is the kind of job you are holding. For most jobs, as a Swede you need a salary of at least 50,000 a month to get an extension of stay and no longer do borderruns. Only for teachers, members of the media and people working for the government there is no minimum income requirement.
