Fake Police Officer arrested by Pattaya Police

PATTAYA: -- One of two suspected fake Police Officers who conducted an illegal traffic stop in Soi Wat-Tum in South Pattaya and attempted to extort money to secure the release of those stopped was arrested by Police on Tuesday. Police Colonel Nantawoot, the Chief of Pattaya Police confirmed the arrest of Khun Wirayoot aged 25 at a press conference on Tuesday. He revealed that the suspect was one of two men who reportedly stopped Khun Gitipong aged 21 on his motorbike and escorted him to Banglamung Police Station for a urine test. The test was negative; however he was told that a payment of 10,000 Baht must be made to secure his release. At this point the victim’s Mother was contacted and she arranged an initial payment of 8,800 Baht which was made. Pattaya Police were then contacted and arranged an undercover operation whereby the remaining 1,200 Baht was handed over to Khun Wirayoot who was subsequently arrested.

Fake police officers do a urine test at Banglamung police station, must have been a fake police station as well I guess......................What's that awful smell right now :whistling:

So now we have, in addition to all the other fake items in Thailand, fake police officers too!

So do we now need to wonder next time a cop pulls you up for something whether it's a real one or

whether we're being scammed by a conman dressed as a cop ?

Scary stuff. And how can they be fake police officers ? surely if they were fake they would not be allowed into banglamung police station.

They doing the donkey work for other pehaps

Does this mean there are REAL traffic police officers? I never see any at trafiic lights , catching the people carriers and buses that regularly jump the red, or stopping cars/lorries driving the wrong way up the hard shoulder. (just a couple of simple infractions of the law that could be easily enforced).

Does this mean there are REAL traffic police officers?

THAI POLICE-OUT OF CONTROL should be the headline.
