Soi 2 beer bars now just a memory

PATTAYA:-- After who knows how many years of operation, the entire Soi 2 beer bar complex area is now just a mass of concrete, wood, and ceramic rubble. I am not aware of just what is planned for the area, although with the value of the land I imagine it will be something that doesn’t stop at a single storey.

Included in this post is a not-to-scale map which formed part of a US serviceman’s guide to the delights of Pattaya. It was published in 1992, and the Soi 2 beer bar complex is clearly marked in blue. From what I understand, the Soi 2 beer bars have been a part of the nightlife landscape of north Pattaya since the mid to late 1980s. I well recall spending many a night wandering through the various bars over a series of trips from 1993 onwards

At least for me they are good memories

Good riddance, the sooner the better the rest of them are demolished and open up somewhere a bit more discreet.
