Where are good places to go out for a normal, non-bar-girl night out? Like - Where do expats go to just hang out, what are the cool clubs in town, etc?

Want good rock Music live? AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones etc? Try the Tattoo Rock bar top end of 2nd Rd on the left not far past BigC. Small, friendly and no BG. Quite loud though

New Cosy Bar has opened nearby too, but not sure if it has BG as I have not been in it yet but good music.

How about that Disco at the beginning of Walking street? Called Walking Street, I believe. More techno / dance music. I do not remember BG in there either.

Beer Garden? Nr Walking St. end of Beach Road. Good food, friendly, view of the ocean. Music not so loud. Freelancers sit at the main bar but do not tend to hang around the tables.

Green Bottle on 2nd road. A restaurant but reasonable prices and not so loud live band.

The Shagwell Wombat bar, Soi 1 off Pattaya Klang. Cheap beer, friendly, live filipino trio. Music is OK. Have food. They have 'drink Ladies' but they do not pester you but for a 30 Baht drink supplement you get a free 'feel' if you want

On the other hand, maybe music is not your 'thing'

Hell, it is hard to find places with no BG in them

I just frequent these places frequently

Blues Factory just off Walking Street, you can easily spend a whole night there, usually two great bands, worth it to see Lam Morrison alone, relaxed atmosphere, decent prices.

Purple Space Monkey at Soi Chaiyapreuk 2, Jomtien is well worth going to as well.

Leo's Blues Bar in Soi 19 (Wongamat), Pattaya-Naklua Road.

North Pattaya along Beach Road has some decent places....Tavern by the Sea (sports bar- in front of Amari Hotel, then there is the Holiday Inn terrace; Green Tree, and Gullivers (food is disappointing there but good service).

"Normal" and "Pattaya" do not go together in the same sentence
