This from the Australian press....

"Medical experts are warning of an outbreak of disease in Bangkok as the floods look set to recede and the government says the cost to the Thai economy may exceed $A30 billion.

The Australian embassy in Bangkok is urging travellers to reconsider their travel plans and to exercise caution".

Didn't the Thai minister for tourism recently state that the floods will have zero effect on tourism? :rolleyes::rolleyes:

It is good to see that Australia is willing to say what has to said to protect its citizens. They understand flooding and the problems that evolve . Thay also are aware how poorly Thailand copes with things. Disease as a result of this years flood could prove to be a major problem.

I often think of the molds that will be in hotels and restaurants for months maybe even years due the climate.It gets into walls floors, everything.
