PATTAYA: -- A group of 22 flood refugees were caught gambling on Thursday Afternoon and were subsequently arrested by Pattaya Police. Information was forthcoming from a local informant that a group of people had recently rented a room in Soi Khopai in South Pattaya and gambling activities were taking place around the clock. Police Colonel Nantawoot, the Pattaya Police Chief, led a raid on the room and arrested 22 people, who had all been forced to relocate to Pattaya from Bangkok to escape the floods. The group revealed they were bored and simply wanted to pass the time by sharing each other’s money and thought that gambling would be the best way to make this happen.
