How Old Can Us Counsulate Income Letter Be In Pattaya?

Featured Replies

I need to renew my retirement extension in early February. The US consulate will be in Pattaya on December 21 and again on February 29. Feb. 29 is too late, but is December 21st. too early to get my income affidavit notarized by the consulate? The letter would be over two months old when I apply for the extension.

I believe it has to be within 30 days of when you make your renewal application.

Doesn't that office allow you to renew more than 30 days prior to expiration?

I believe some offices allow letters older than 30 days.

You could always ask the imm office you'll be using.

Yes, two months with no excuse needed.

I renewed last year with a letter that was 9 months old and will renew this year with one that is 4 months old.

My understanding, based on regular updates from the Pattaya City Expats Club, is that the letter cannot be more than one year old.

Of course, as we all know, the regulations are subject to change with a shift in the wind-- or at the whim of the agent processing your request.

Also, the U.S. Embassy outreach for Pattaya is November 21 (three days away), not December, as you stated. (see link below)

Thanks for the info and the correction of my error on the date. I'll get my letter on Monday, and request the extension a little early, and hope that this saves a trip to Bangkok.

SurfRider,

Thanks for your clarification and excellent posting habits. I was following this thread for general info, and the link above is info I have been looking for.

I will try to be as diligent as you are with my info and future posts.

"Thanks for your clarification and excellent posting habits"

Thanks to you and "yknot" for the for the kind comments.

They're refreshing to see, considering the all too common bashing and arrogant condescending commentary from some of the gang on this forum.
