Hi there,

Just wondering if I would have any problems bringing over 2 month's worth of Tetralysal (lymecycline) tablets from home? I would be bringing them over in my checked bag since there is 2 months worth.

I've never brought medication abroad before so just want to double check.

Thanks

The rule is 30 days supply for personal use. That said, I have not known them to count out tablets and the intent behind the rule is to ensure people aren't bringing in pharmaceuticals for resale.

The other hitch would be if your bags were opened and it was suspected this was something other than what it is. this exact form of tetracycline is not available in Thailand so they might be stumped by the name.

I suggest you have along with you a doctor's note stating you are on this medication and that it is a form of the antibiotic tetracycline. That should cover you.

30 days it is then - I don't want to risk anything.

Would a UK repeat perscription slip with my name printed on it cover me? If not I'll organise a doctor's note. The box of the tablets has a Chemist's sticky label with my name and also says that it is 'Equivalent to 300 mg tetracycline base' so hopefully that should help if any problems arise.

thanks for the help!
