Chaeng Wattana Office Bangkok

Featured Replies

I have to do my 90 day notification of address by 8 December. I heard that due to the floods Immigration has moved temporarilly from Chaeng Wattana to the old Sathorn offices. Does any one know if that is still the case or if there is a website I can check on as to when they will move back?

They never moved but Suan Plu can also be used until until close of business on December 9.

On an associated topic any recent updates on the flooding in Chaeng Wattana road as I plan to drive there tomorrow and do some shopping on my way home.

I'm too old to be climbing onto Army lorries and if necessary I could take the MRT to Chamchuri Square instead.

CW-road is accesible, at least from the Laksi area side by normal car. Immigration reports you can again use bus, van and taxi to get there.

Many thanks Mario.

Chaeng Wattana is more suitable as it is near to my home and my intended shopping :jap:.

Thanks to all for your very useful information. I usually take the BTS to Mo Chit then taxi to Immigration. Is this feasible at the moment?

Yes, it should be no problem doing that.

Immigration states:

Now, Chaengwattana Rd. at the entrance of Government Complex the water level dropped almost to normal,

small cars can pass.

In case of visitors wishing to contact Immigration Division 1 at Government Complex

can traveling from the Victory Monument. Can take a bus No.166 , please look at the front of a bus will show destination at Government Complex. The first bus from Victory Monument start at 7:00 am. and leave every 40 minutes. Bus No.166 leave from the Government Complex at the bus station (in front of The Golden Place supermartket) final at 6.00 pm.

Or take the other public bus service , van and taxi (service as usual).

Thanks again. Now I'm all set to go.

Cheers

OK, I did the 90 day report this afternoon. Waited less than 15 minutes.

Chaeng Wattana Road from Bang Khen rounabout had a couple of wet patches and no flooding anywhere up to and past the Government Complex.

I rang Government helpline on 1111. They speak good English and are helpfull.

I explained i live in Sai Mai district near Bangkok and we have been under siege for 6-7 weeks and couldnt get out due to flood waters. My 90 day report was due on 7 th November

They told me to use Sun Plu in Bangkok up to 9 th December as Chaengwattana is closed to 13 th December. Even tho it meant more expense in getting there.

I went yesterday to Suan Plu and was sorted in 15 minutes. Still had to pay 2000 Baht fine. They couldnt help about the fine and said it was up to the Prime minister. Yeah right..

Lets send our complaints over being fined, thro no fault of ours to British Embassy for starters.

Anyone else been fined for late 90 dat report in floods ????????

Chaeng wattana is completely dry. Immigration is open and so is the rest of the offices, shops and restaurants. Went there today, not busy and fast service. You can also photocopy and get your photos there. The coupon meal restaurant is open too!

Just to reply to Toshy. The immigration office at chaeng wattana has never been shut during the flooding. Your also lucky to have a job at the moment as most businesses are struggling due to the flood. Also the taxi that took me home to Rangsit was in a traffic jam for 3 hours, then got stuck in a flooded street and two helpful traffic policemen pushed us out and got the taxi running again. Just to help me a visitor to Thailand from a foreign country.

I just came from Chamchuri (or however you spell it - it's at Sam Yan MRT) and the CW guys are still there. One of them even recognized me from my trips to CW.

There is a sign that says in gloriously massaged English that they wil be back home on CW on the 13th of this month. That's a Tuesday, folks. The 9th will be the last day of business at a MRT station.

I went last month for my 90-day report. I went today to have vital info copied from my old passport to my new passport. Counters 2 & 3 if this applies to you. There are CW signs to help you out. I didn't look and wound up in the wrong line for two hours.

They never moved but Suan Plu can also be used until until close of business on December 9.

can we use Suan Plu office for 30 day extensions on tourist visas?

Yes until close of business on the 9th.

I mailed in my 90 Day Address Report and got it back in 5 days..........................

Does anyone know what provinces can use the office at Soi Suan Plu? Is Pathumthani also allowed to use this office until the 9th?
