December 7, 201114 yr I was born into a cities language , as I prosseded throuh school I came to notice that the tongue i spoke in was at best a kind of hinduwegian ,merrily running frae the huns . " Get a gildae on Opkar it's those ... nae bother Luke ... To this day every mucker and corner shop owner says to me , " How er ye going son , still away , ya lucky basturt , say hello to yer ma . An put bach that highland toffee"
December 9, 201114 yr Language may be a tool for you, Onionluke, but it doesn't seem to have opened anything! If we knew what you were on about, we might have something to say.
December 9, 201114 yr Author Language may be a tool for you, Onionluke, but it doesn't seem to have opened anything! If we knew what you were on about, we might have something to say. My reading , writing and comprehension takes a self induced battering regularly , the old adage , " empty vessels make more noise" , fits well .
December 9, 201114 yr If we get a mod to change the title this thread could become the 'Posting while you're pissed' thread.
December 11, 201114 yr Ooops , I thought this was the out of your box forum . "Language as a tool"... There's a lot of tools with a poorer grip on language than you have. I take it "Surace" should read "Solace"? I think I saw a bit of the eclipse last night, by the way, boys. I was on my way home from my worst, and far from closest, shave with an open razor that I have ever had the fortitude to bear, combined with an incessant joking about farangs (and, I assume, how hard it was to shave them with a blunt razor). The joking I could bear easily enough, but the blunt razor was a trial. The eclipse (partial as it was) looked like a dense cloud in front of the moon, which perhaps it was... Anyway, for all of you who wre born in the Winter solace, cheer up - things can only get better! Brighter, anyway.... SC
December 11, 201114 yr Still or sparkling? I thought they were referring to the night...... Sparkling solace? I can imagine a bit of sparkling after breaking out the still, but the excisorcist may have something to say about that. Anyway, let's drink to the still of a silent night, or from the still of a silent night, as appropriate Though I've never been one for spirits; I'm not a believer... SC

December 11, 201114 yr Is solace gained through revenge...or forgiveness? One tends to forget such things when on holiday....
December 11, 201114 yr Is solace gained through revenge...or forgiveness? One tends to forget such things when on holiday.... Solace in a bottle... The purpose of the holiday is to forget revenge, resentment or whatever slight. I've gone off the burgundy, since I stopped following football... SC

December 12, 201114 yr Author Sparkling solace administered by the Angel of Retribution in glitter hotpants and roller boots .
December 12, 201114 yr I thought "surace" was meant to be "surface". Then, what do I know? So would you be interpreting that language was the tool, and not the OP? An interesting alternative interpretation... SC
