Pattaya Civil Defense Volunteer wanted for attempted murder in 1999

PATTAYA: -- A Pattaya Civil Defense Volunteer, known in Thai as “O-po-po-lor” was arrested on Monday following a firearms incident and further investigations revealed he was wanted for attempted murder of his former wife back in 1999. The incident began with reports of a house owner firing a gun into the air outside of his house in Soi Siam Country Club, located in East Pattaya. There were also reports the man was drunk and his young daughter was also inside the house. Officers attended the house but were unable to enter as they were not armed with a search warrant. They had no alternative but to post officers outside the house all night, hoping the house owner, Khun Sala aged 53, would come out. Eventually on Monday Morning he came out and gave himself up to Police and handed over his firearm which appeared to be licensed. As it was used in contravention of the license conditions, he was arrested and taken to Banglamung Police Station where further checks revealed he was wanted on arrest warrant number 102/2542 dated 20th January 1999 issued by Khon Kaen Provincial Court which stated he is alleged to have repeatedly stabbed his former wife in an attempt to kill her
