Hi all, I need a quick question answered.

I've quit my current company and I am wondering what happens to my visa. I know that if you're on Non-B you only have 7 days but what about a Non-O based on marriage which was supported with the fact that I was making 50,000 baht per month?

Do the same rules apply?

An extension of stay based on marriage remains valid if you quit your job. An extension of stay based on employement means you ahve to elave the country within 24 hours or get a 7 day extension for 1,900 baht.

An extension based on marriage requires an incoem of 40,000, n extension based on employement for most western nationals 50,000 a month. You mention 50,000 baht, so you might have an extension of stay based on employement. Was your wife interviewd for the extension and you have to come back 30 days later to get the 1 year extension? If not, you are probably on an extension of stay based on employement. (That the visa was a non-O or B doesn't matter). Your extension of stay should state the reason for the extension, often it is just a number, like 2.18.

She did go to the interview and I did have to come back after 30 days but i want to be super sure here..

It has "THAI WIFE" stamped next to my visa stamp, but doesn't mention anything about work?

It emans your extension of stay was based on your marriage. Losing your job will have no consequence for your permisison to stay, till your next extension of stay and you will have to show an income of 40,000 THB OR 400,000 in a Thai bank account in your name for 2 months..

Phew, thanks Mario!
