From the Bird song แฟนจ๋า : รักจริงไม่อู้

Is the อู้ here used as in Northern dialect? If not,

how would this phrase translate? The other meaning of อู้ is something like to loaf, to slack off, to dawdle. That doesn't seem to apply here.

Different อู้ of Northern Thai, different tone and meaning.

อู้ in central Thai - dawdle

รักจริงไม่อู้

Don't dawdle on real love.

You have to work for it, dont waste time.

Same goes for saying when someone is not working for 100 % and tend to be slow, lazy people often said อู้งาน

Something like it. Hope this helps.
