Am looking for a pair of dumbells up to 12kg each,with threading retaining caps on the ends so can remove weights down to bare bar for starting out.A freind who is basically housebound[cant get out to a gym] and wants to do a little toning is looking.

Maybe a set of reducing sizes from 10-12k's down to a couple of k's would also be an alternative.

Anyone seen such weights for sale and where? Maybe a second hand set someone is no longer using..?

Yes Tesco lotus Hang Dong has them and also the sport section in Robinsons (Airport Plaza 3rd floor)

I would also suggest looking in Sports Mart in Gad Suan Kaew. They have a good selection plus I saw one set that has slip in/out plates for varying the weight. This image is a 25 lb chrome set (just grabbed it as an example). The set I saw was a 20 kg iron set. It may be more than needed right now, but as a challenge for the future? Plus they may (a) be able to get small sets and/or (b ) recommend where you might find one in stock?
