connor6063
Im 18 and ive been with my Thai girlfriend for 1.5 years. She is 20. We are planning on getting married once we both finish university/graduate school. I was wondering how hard it would be ( if it is possible) to obtain Thai citzenship as an American and live and work full time in Thailand? Any suggestions? She comes from a very wealthy background as do I so money isnt much of a problem if it is needed.
Mario2008
After I believe 3 years of marriage and living in Thailand it is possible. But you would need to have a job in Thailand and other qualifications to show you are an asset to Thai society. Speaking Thai would also be beneficial. InterestedObserver
It is not impossible, just extremely difficult. After qualifying, which in itself is no easy task, people can wait years for an answer. You need a history of working and paying taxes in Thailand, contributing to Thai society, ability to speak Thai, no criminal record, and being well connected helps. Alvarez
well, you must to live and work here for five years , then you salary must be from 40,000 but and up , speak, read and write Thai, sing the national phra barami , one interview and wait almost one year, that was the way in which i got it, but remember the must important part is your salary, so i guess that you must work or invest here:(
