Hi all, my g/f and soon to be wife has been told she needs to get a passport in order to marry myself (UK male) in Thailand? why would a passport be needed for a Thai to get married in Thaialnd?

Can anyone confirm what docs she needs? obviously ID card but what else?

As the poster above stated she just needs those two items, it is you that requires the most documentation.

No passport needed for that, your future wife is just hinting for you to bring her to the UK after you both married.

Why would you marry if you don't want to live with your wife, passports are not hard to get , you can get one in 10 days in Thailand
