Rimmer
Next time apply the handbrake on Buddha Hill PATTAYA: -- Pattaya’s high season is always a time of dangerous driving incidents, but this one could have turned into a real catastrophe in Pratumnak yesterday, given the runaway car had to cross ten car lanes of road, and two central reservations before it was finally stopped by colliding with a roadside kerb. An SUV had been parked on the very steep Buddha Hill, facing downwards, without its handbrake being properly applied. The police were trying to ascertain the full facts as our man passed the incident, but incredibly there were no casualties at the scene, and no other vehicle had been hit as the car careered out of control across the usually very busy intersection. WarpSpeed
"careered" wow! what a dramatic exaggeration, not likely it was going full speed.. At any rate they should have also turned the steering wheel towards the curbing and it would haven't rolled more then a foot or 2.. pattayadingo
Seen this happen a few times on hills. On a hill, handbrake and leave it in gear. Too simple for some, I suppose LOL.
lonewolf99
Some parts of Buddha Hil - around the observatory are very steep amd "terminal velocity" would soon be reached. Trying to stop 1 tonne of SUV once its moving would be near impossible unless were born on a planet far away and powered by Kryptonite.
