Replacing The Fridge Freezer Door

Featured Replies

Hi guys, my lease is up in two months and I wanted to replace the freezer door (inside not outside, it is one of those freezer, fridge combos). Going to Homepro I notice the size seems to be pretty standard so there must be somewhere to get a replacement. It is that regular frail hard plastic bit. I attached a picture.

Any ideas? Help finding one would be greatly appreciated.

You might also do a Google for the manufacturer's Bangkok office then visit or phone or email to ask if they have a replacement.

That's what I did for our Mitsubishi fridge, same problem, door to the freezer compartment. However, they just had a giggle for me as our fridge is a 1990 model, long out of date. Will be making a door myself out of some semi hard foam product, duct tape, etc.

Hmm, that is a pretty good idea. I will try that. Just figured since the model is new and most models that have this combo thing use this exact door they would be selling them at a shop. Cannot imagine someone buys a new fridge just to replace a plastic door. But since I am renting I do not want the landlord to make a big fuss over it so figured I would replace it myself.

Pity you didn't tell the brand and model. I got a replacement for a Panasonic for 800 baht the dealer ordered it in for me.

Just realized that would have been prudent !

It is a panasonic as well, about 5 ft all in one deal. There is a long serial inside but probably wouldn't matter too much to the convo.

Can I ask you which dealer you went to ? I am in BKK in the Ratchada- Lad Phrao area.

go to www.panasonic.co.th

near the top there is a heading service get support

click on Bangkok and there is a list of service centres and phone numbers. It is in thai but run it through translate.

You will need the full numbers. It took about a week to get one in ChiangMai.
