I was thinking of getting a Data 3G prepaid Sim for my android tablet use. For a 3G limit of 5GB per month, which is better option? I use 3G to surf very often, so which one has better speed?

And for iphone4, which is recommended? A little of phone and a little of 3G as well.

I am in Chiang Mai city area. Advise appreciate!

They operate on different frequencies. Choose whichever will work. If both work, avoid True. AIS is the lesser of two evils.

Is DTAC 3G here yet?

I purchased a True move 3 G Dongle (USB connection ) last year, B 1999, from True shop in basement of KSK.

A young girl from the states was using one in the shop on her laptop at the time.

She spoke well of it's performance but advised me to use a DTAC sim card as her's performed better then her original True sim card.

Good results from CM to Issan to Cha Am.

Yes, DTAC 3G is here in CM.

On Dec 31, exasperated no end due to AIS 3G that simply didn't work anymore in my area near CMU, I switched.

I went from maximum 120 kps during the day, and EDGE only at night crawling at under 60 (on AIS) to up to 1.2 Mps day and night on DTAC.

Yes, DTAC had some network outages (of a mysterious nature) recently. I personally was not affected.

I can highly recommend DTAC 3G- it is stinky fast.....;)

I have DTAC 3G and don't really rate it that highly here in CM. The 3G coverage is somewhat questionable as well as stable. It strikes me that you may show 3G coverage on your handset but every data related task you try to perform and the 3G is suddenly gone.

General coverage is very good though.

I previously had the True post paid option which was fantastic for data related tasks in both my iPhone 4 & Galaxy 11s. The downside to True was that you could rarely make or receive calls on their network. When I cancelled the True service the lady asked why. I told her the problem and she acknowledged that it was a well known problem on their network here in CM.

I admit that my DTAC 3G usage may not adapt to all user's needs.

I bought an aircard from them, for my laptop.

I'm not using the service in a mobile phone or a tablet, moving around CM.

For what it is worth, at my location near CMU on Huay Kaew Road, it is consistently fast. Light years ahead of the AIS 3G that I had for 4 years.

Some friends also told me TRUE not recommended but I did not know the reasons. For me, I will need a 3G data Sim for my tablet and a micro one for my iphone.

I think from the advise I see above, DTAC 3G seems to be a safer bet. How if I use it in my laptop, must I buy Aircard from them or can I use my own HUAWEI Dongle?

Providing your dongle is not locked in any way and works on the same frequency there is no reason you shouldn't be able to use it with an existing sim card inserted.

There are various data plans available but be aware that the "unlimited" plan will have a fair usage policy in place. If your not sure what this means you can ask them in store or google it. The "fair usage" allowance varies from provider to provider and plan to plan.
