Hello all,

I read through the internet and this site, but cannot find a definite answer.

The following situation.

A couple from Italy. She will have a job here in Thailand incl. a proper non immigrant type B visa and apply for a work permit.

But what about him? What kind of visa can her married partner get? A non immigrant type O?

He will have no job at the time he is coming with her to Thailand. Should he arrive on a tourist visa?

I did read that it is possible to show, that you have 400.000 THB on a bank and then apply for a visa. Is this correct?

Shedding some light on this case would help me a lot. Thank you in advance.

Best regards

Yes non-O and your visa rides hers.. My situation exactly except we are 2 different nationalities entirely so even more convoluted and have been living that way for almost 10 years..

You can get other visa's but no need... Personally I'd apply before coming over for simplicity sake assuming your wife has hers already you should be able to get yours before entry too based on hers.

If the couple is legally married and the wife is on an extension of stay for employment, then the husband can get a Non-imm O visa as a dependent.

The company employing the wife and the couple need to send documentation to support the husbands application to the consulate/embassy ie letter from company that they will be employing the wife etc, and the couple would need to submit a marriage certificate etc.

The husband is not permitted to work and typically would not be issued a WP on the back of a Non-imm O as a dependent, would need to get his own Non-imm B
