Dear all,

I currently have a multi entry tourist visa and i want to change this to a multi entry non-immigrant type "O", because i want to start volunteering for a Thai organisation. What is the nearest/easiest Thai consulate/embassy that can sort this out, or do i really have to go back home as i was told by the embassy in my home country? For what i understand I do need to sort out the work permit after i have got the non-immigrant "O" visa and when I'm back in Thailand?

You can make the conversion at immigration. Look around on this forum there are several threads about doing this for retirement or marriage. Do you know that you will need a work permit to preform volunteer work. Any work preformed in Thailand needs a work permit.

So the volunteer visa doesn't really differ from the non-immigrant "O" for marriage and/or retirement, except that I still need the work-permit?
