Tourist Visa For My Thai Girlfriend

Featured Replies

Hi,

Its must be on this website somewhere but can't find it at the moment, I want my girlfriend to come to Australia for a month on a tourist visa, we have been living with each other for almost 2 years now, she has been to Australia before on a tourist visa to see her sister in Adelaide.

Was wondering what details ect do I need to take to the Australian Embassy in Bangkok as I dont want to go back and forth, rather have everything sorted so that she can get the tourist visa and come back with me for a month.

Thanks

The main thing that she needs is evidence that she will come back to Thailand. That usually means a job or family. Besides that is evidence of support in Australia, which would be a letter from you stating that you are supporting her and she is staying with your family or with you (assuming you have a reason to come back to Thailand, like a job and work permit).

As she has already been here she is probably aware of what is required.....however have a look at the Immi website which should assist you

Hi Cyrax, my Thai girlfriend this mob http://www.vfs-au.net/ in Bangkok for her visa application processing for an Australian tourist visa. Their website gives you guidelines and references on the application process. Applied September 2011 for a 1 year multiple entry tourist visa. It took 3 to 4 working days to process the application and get it granted. I went along to the office in Bangkok with my girlfriend and found them pretty helpful. They have a photo copier that you can use also. We only waited about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes and you do not need an appointment. Cost was under 4000 baht including postage for return of documents and visa notification. She will not get a stamp in her passport as the visa is electronic.
