I tried to sell something on ebay and it asks me to confirm the phone number.

I enter my mobile phone number but no way it calls me or text me.

Anyone successful on that? Or any other methode?

As long as all the details are correct, Your address is more important, then you will have no promblem.

To answer your question, no they won't contact you.

No their computer calls and gives you a 4 digit number.

Problem was i was registered in Austria. So they needed an Austrian number, gave one, a second later they called my mother wrote down the number and emailed it.

Problem fixed

I guess that their automated verification system should call you.

My experience with a similiar service (from Google) is that it does work to Thailand just not very reliable. Interestingly, the service works much more reliable to my wife's phone (we are both on 12call).

Just google "ebay confirm phone number" and you will get an idea of how it is supposed to work and what problems other people have.

no they want that I call them to lift the 10 items 500 USD/month limit.

Strange company.....

strange that you didn't just give them a call if you're legit and that's what they're requesting.

I think it is insulting, I am with Ebay since their very beginning and have a 100 % positive ranking as buyer. Now I want to sell exactly 3 pieces and they ask me for 200 different things.....

not sure of ur details. if it's a western based account and ur selling from asia, could just be they're trying to verify u are who u say u are.

paypal forced me to call them and verify myself when i tried to send $11 to my brother of the same last name....and I've been with them for many many years.

it's a shame nobody competes with these 2 behemoths. a lot of things about ebay are complete crap. not the least of which is u can't leave feedback for buyers and chinese sellers make it very difficult because of their low profit per item and huge volume.

anyways ..

getting off topic I guess. try not to take it personal...whatever algorithm they use, it's more than likely they're just trying to verify you're the true account owner. 5 min call should take care of it.

You are right, thanks! Paypal is also very strange. I never had problems with them, but a friend of mine in China got his account blocked for 6 month with a 1000 or 2000 USD on it.

Reason: a complain from Apple, that he sells some items not licensed from Apple. He didn't get any chance to clarify things, no way of communication with them.
