February 13, 201214 yr My sister-in-law entered Thailand with visa exemption (30 days). She wants to stay longer now. How easy is it in Vientiane to get a tourist visa at the Thai consulate? Any issues she should be aware of? Thanks a lot for your help!
February 13, 201214 yr It's pretty easy as long as she hasn't got too many of them. If she has she may be questioned or possibly refused. If it's her first one, then it will take only a couple of days to sort out. Everyone knows where the new Thai embassy is in Vientianne, you need to submit in the morning and collect about 48 hours later. Check the embassy for any updates as things can change. It's a much improved service over there to how it used to be and a preety good choice of location for visa run I think.

February 13, 201214 yr "...you need to submit in the morning and collect about 48 hours later." I thought you appy before noon (11AM?) one day and pick up after 1PM the next day.
February 13, 201214 yr if she is from Turkey than you have to get the Laos Arrival Visa from Laos Embassy in BKK.
