Need Help On An Extension Question...

Featured Replies

I am currently here with my family (2 adults and 3 kids) on Non IMM O (volunteer) Visa's... these were 90 day visas that we got in HK prior to arrival to help with a local charity here in CNX.

Our Visa's Expire on March 19th 2012... I need to stay here till May 1st. I would rather not leave the country as it is expensive to travel with 5 people.

Can i extend the visa by 1 month at immigration?? or will they do more than one month with proof of exit plane ticket?

or should i just do a combo of extension and then pay 500bht a day for 10day??

or any combination of all???

thanks in advance!!

You can not obtain more than 7 days from immigration and without a plane ticket out that might not even be available. For children overstay is not a problem (if below 14) so if you have trusted friends who could take care of them the two of you could travel to obtain a tourist visa.

Great Idea! didnt know that about kids under 14!

do you know if they give a 30 day extension on a 90 day non Imm O??

thanks!

No they do not - that is why I said 7 days would be the max and even that is questionable. You also have the border crossing/return option for 15 days visa exempt entry each time.

Your charity should be able to get you one year extension at immigrations.

Just bring paperwork from the charity and your work permit.
