Cambodia From Thailand But Out Of Visa Pages

Featured Replies

Hi, all. USA citizen: I want to go to Cambodia but only have 1 visa page remaining. I found some great threads on the boards and know the steps to take - even have an appointment tomorrow. 2 questions:

1) Do I need US currency to add the pages or will they accept Baht?

2) Can I get all 3 sets of extra pages at one time and only pay the $82 total?

Thanks!

licklips.gif Did mine at the U.S. embessy in Bangkok last year. (October 2011).

1. Yes, you can pay in Baht...at their specified exchange rate. (reasonably close, but not quite what you would get from a local bank when exchanging Thai Baht for Dollars)

2. Not sure what you mean. They put 12 extra pages in my passport...one with a stamped description of time/date/and place where extra pages were entered. (so you can't use that side of the page for visas)

3. And yes the fee is $82. You pay the fee first and get a reciept number slip. Your passport then disaapears into another area and youwait until your number is called, and they return your passport with the new pages in it.

4. When I had it done in 1985 it was free, and was done right in front of you. In 2011 it costs 82 dollars and they will not let you see the actual process done. Put those facts together, and you get a real true understanding of the current state of the U.S. economy and government today.

But then that's offtopic.gif

Note: Forgot to add....make an on-line appointment BEFORE you go to the embessy. Since Sept. 2011 they want appointments for all visits.
