Dependent Visa

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am a Singaporean with working Permit in Thailand. My wife form Myarmar & I gotten married early this month in Singapore and I like to get her a dependent visa to stay with me in Thailand.

She is having a Non-Immigrant O Visa in Thailand now expiring somewhere in May this year.

Anyone know any reliable and low cost VISA agent that can recommand to us?

Thanks!

You really should not need a visa agent. You need to have an extension of stay from immigration in your passport and she will present that and proof of marriage to obtain the matching extension as dependent. Believe you/she will have to visit Singapore/Myarmar Embassy and have Thai translation of marriage certificate made/signed off by Embassy and recorded by MFA and then visit a District Office to record it for Thai records. I am not sure if either could be used or Singapore because of marriage there or Myarmar because user is from there but believe Singapore will work.

I would hesitate to recommend using a visa agent as most seem to be less knowledgeable than many of the posters here (who seem to have more experience and are more up to date) and this is something you should be able to do with a minimum of help.

With luck a foreign couple will be able to respond here as to exactly how they obtained dependent extension of stay.
