dddave
I know this has been answered before but I can't find it. My retirement extension expires March 29. I need to go to the US around March 3 and will not return until April 17th. Will they allow me to renew the last week of Feburary if I show them a airplane ticket showing that I will be out of the country during the official renewal period? Jingthing
Most offices welcome extension applications one month early without any travel excuse proof needed. Honestly, I am not sure if they mean 30 days or one month precisely. I think your prospects are good on those dates.
Lite Beer
One month early is pretty much routine and will usually do earlier if travelling.
Jingthing
Do they always define one month as equal to 30 days (even though not all months are equal 30 days)?

Jingthing
My understanding is that at Jomtien, applications as early as two months with no excuse are welcome, but that policy can change anytime. Report here if it does (but please don't ask the clerks at the front, they have been known give more restrictive answers than the actual officers). theoldgit
I have often wondered, if you apply early, say one or two months, do they extend your permission to stay for one year from the date of application, or do they add on the "lost" weeks/months? lopburi3
Stay is extended from current permitted to stay date - you do not lose anything obtaining a real extension of stay early.
