Land Ownership For Foreign Company In Thailand

Our company is considering an option to buy a land plot in Thailand for future hotel construction. Cause Thailand market is new for us, we do not know the real prices for land, and I would like to ask your advise, which companies are reliable and have good prices for land plots? Also, we are not sure about the location: better Bangkok, Patteya or Phuket and Samui?

Maybe somebody has already made investigations about my topic.So, please give me advise. Which starting capital we should have in mind to start in Thailand?

Or maybe its more good to buy an existing hotel and just make a repairment...

You have many different scenarios that could be interesting for you.

Need to ask some questions to determine what is the best for you...

What type of business are you in now?

Has anyone in your group been in hotel mgmt before?

What type of demographic are you interested in?

How many investors will be working in the business?

What is your risk capital?

Starting capital necessary will depend on the answers you give.

Or maybe its more good to buy an existing hotel and just make a repairment...

The probability of success would be higher with an existing hotel if it has a proven cash flow. You of course are ringing the cash register the first day and have pre-bookings, loyal customers on repeat visits. Already established with the travel agents, Google, trained employees in place, etc.

The other item is established hotels are normally a better value than a new hotel because of increased construction costs
