Featured Replies

I've come across this a few times. It's being translated as "extends the time limit" or "prolongs" but that makes little sense. What does it mean?

It means exactly what you say.

For example if you want to ask : give me a bit more time you would say

Look after your heart to extend your life:

ดูแลหัวใจเพื่อต่อเวลาชีวิต

Or:

extension of the promotion

You also hear it a lot when talking about the extension time in a football game (ช่วงต่อเวลา)

sometimes you might also hear: ตรงต่อเวลา. This means on time or punctual.

The above seems correct but also believe it can mean 'at the moment' or 'it's time'

mmm, "It's time" would be ถึงเวลา, or am I misunderstanding something?

Thanks. That is the correct translation of what I'm seeing. The online translator was splitting it into "straight, extends the time limit" but it's all clear now.

I was using it in the context of the song(s) which may not be literal. Also, could be just my misunderstanding of its use there. wink.png

Example using the song/movie title: How would you translate this?

I can thing of one other meaning: "for the (limited) time".

For example in:

or

The above seems correct but also believe it can mean 'at the moment' or 'it's time'

In this song somebody is asking for more time. So it would mean "extend the time" or give me a bit more time.

Thanks, that makes sense.
