Safest Way To Have New Passport Sent From Us Embassy

Featured Replies

Have some paperwork such as a CRBA and a new passport for my young son that are being processed. In the approval email I received just now, "it will take 3 to 4 weeks from the date of this email provided you supplied a stamped, self-addressed envelope."

Well, I didn't give them a return envelope at the time because I thought passports could only be picked up.

Now that I see that there is an option to have this paperwork sent to me instead of wasting hours of driving, do any members recommend a way to safely send this ? Mail service here in Hua Hin. It is disastrous at least on my soi, There is no way I would trust this paperwork to anything less than EMS.

I can call them, but wanted to first ask if other members had recommendations of how to do this, maybe I'm wrong but i think EMS needs to be done only at the post office. I don't mind spending extra for piece of mind knowing there is some tracking, wondering if others have made a deal with a secretary or something before I call them.

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks

I have had mine mailed twice, both my kids passports once each and wifes twice via self addressed THAI EMS postal without any troubles or delay.

So the US Embassy can send using EMS on a self-addressed envelope ?, thought that was impossible and could only be done from a Thai Post Office since that is when they scan the EMS sticker into the system for tracking.

There is a Thai post office inside the US embassy just for this purpose!

From the ACS notice of services provided during their outreach programs:

Note: we can accept applications, but the passports will have to be brought back to the Embassy for final processing the next working day. We will have prepaid Thailand Post envelopes that you can buy from us (at cost: Baht 75) if you wish us have us mail your passport back to you. ]
