BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has ordered her ministers to review their performance, policies and work plans, as the anniversary of the government's coming to power is on the horizon.

"We have ruled the country for six or seven months, so we have to prepare to review our policies. When the one year anniversary comes, we can sum up the progress of our policies and plans," Yingluck said at a meeting of ministers responsible for 10 major strategic plans at Government House yesterday. She urged them to rush to complete work on the strategies.

The 10 major strategies are to promote the following:

• restoring peace in the South

• logistics

• health insurance

• Thailand as "kitchen of the world"

• halal food

• free WiFi

• energy-price structure

• energy credit cards and credit cards for farmers

• alternative energy

• SME products

She also asked the ministers to finalise all plans to be included in the 2013 budget bill.

PM's Office Minister Nivatthamrong Boonsongpaisal said most government polices are on track, but some may be late because of the severe floods last year. Yingluck plans to call such meetings more often to maximise the government's performance, the minister said.

Amazing progress so far.

Reconciliation, education, social security... ? This list represents the measures by which government achievements will be measured? How sad for Thailand that no-one seems able to paint an inspiring vision for Thailand, and lay the basic building blocks for achieving it. Halal food? A performance measure? OMG. Where is the strategy??

"I reviewed my performance, and I did a fantastic job. Just ask me."

The 10 major strategies are to promote the following:

• restoring peace in the South

progress Nil

• logistics

does she mean bringing her brother back

• health insurance

Well it now cost those qualified 3o baht which created a 50 baht cost to the already cash strapped hospitals net loss 20 baht per patient.

• Thailand as "kitchen of the world"

The average Thai already thinks it's food is the best in the world and won't even try other nationalities. They do however have plans in store to fill warehouses with rice that is to expensive to sell to the world. Word is people will be buying their rice from Viet Nam

• halal food

What about Kosher food they both deserve equal attention from the government.

• free WiFi

They have already instituted policies to install it on a couple of major highways. Drive while you internet.

• energy-price structure

All ready done. higher than many countries

• energy credit cards and credit cards for farmers

For centuries the farmers did a cash business now they can go into long lasting debt still be paying off last years debts when they charge up this years expenses.

Just what Taxi's need a credit card to get fuel they take in cash why not use it to get fuel.

• alternative energy

I doubt they have any idea of what that is.

• SME products

What

Will the PM be doing a report on her progress? r being a Shinowatta is she above that?

What about reviewing her performance at the Four Seasons Hotel , if the video had not been erased, Now that would have been watching..!

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has ordered her ministers to review their performance, policies and work plans, as the anniversary of the government's coming to power is on the horizon.

Performance plan : get out of bed at 11 am instead of 12 noon.

Policies : cream off and steal as much as possible with minimum effort

Work plan : don,t get caught.

Job well done. clap2.gif

Who said they need a strategy...... Let's give farmers some credit card so when they are in debt, they will need those 500bht to go to vote again....

Halal Food? How about the choice to transfer major debt to Thailand's central bank? How about the decision's on the charter changes to the constitution? I think it's pretty obvious how this current Govt. will end up being rated. The streets are quite but that's about to change.

"Will the PM be doing a report on her progress"?

I hope she wouldn't have to include attendance in the report as she seems to spend half her time 'bunking off from parliament' and the other 50% of her time (when she decides to turn up) delegating her duties to Chalerm amongst others.

Can anyone tell me what her job actualy consists of, other than listening to and following orders from cowardly fugitives???

This is like an HR review where you get to write and assess your own KPI's

The kitchen of the world is a decent project. For those Thais that are willing to move to a country like Europe or the USA and start a Thai restaurant the Thai Government will help set things up. Thai food restaurants make a pretty decent income. This scheme was one of the PM's big brother's ideas.

I can't wait for the list of the ones that say they did not do a good job!!!!

What about....

1. flood prevention

2. democracy

3. 300 baht min wage

4. tablet-PC for every school kid

5. Every Thai will be rich

6. 15000 baht starting salary for tertiary educated

7, house buyers and first car buyers subsidy

8. Flood victims grant

8.10 new skytrains for Bangkok and reduce fares to 20 baht

9. A moratorium for house hold debt up to 500,000 baht

10. High speed rail lines linking major cities in the north, northeast, east ect

11. Rural village developement funds

12. A welfare allowance of 600 baht per month for Thais over 60

13. Free wifi in public places

14. A special administrative status for the southern muslim provences

15. A 30 km levee to protect Bangkok from tidal surges

16. national reconciliation

17. poverty eradication

18. corporate income tax reduction

Thailand as the kitchen of the world?

Maybe the forum red cheerleaders would care to explain the absence of any serious class issues in the above list. It looks more like an eclectic shopping list than a programme of class demands. Which proves the point that the Che T-shirt wearing falangs were proudly marching up the garden path to nowhere. Land ownership reforms anyone?

The above isnt my list, they are the PTPs election promises. It would be interesting to hear about the progress on these.

Thailand as "kitchen of the world"

They spelt "kitten" wrong again. rolleyes.gif

A progress report by the various ministries should be a few minutes project. Tell the truth, everything is still awaiting the orginal plans that the committees were formed to address, now they have some personal projects going on which are quite successful (baht wise), others might like to get involved in.

Performance:

1. new passport for k. Thaksin - check

2. never mind
