My Thai wife visited the UK on a 6 month visa a couple of years ago, which was approved within a couple of days after application was made via VFS. We stayed a couple of weeks and returned to Thailand.

Last week we applied for a 2 yr Family visitor visa, as we want to go back in May, Xmas & next Summer , a couple of weeks at a time. It just seemed easier instead of going to BKK every 6 months to re-apply. Our only circumstances that have changed since our last visit, is that we now have a son, who we'll be taking with us. He already has a UK passport. As per our last visit, we will be staying with my parents during our holidays and I think we tick all the other boxes - married ( 6 yrs ) , own property here in Thailand ( 5yrs ) , and my income which is acknowledged every yr by the embassy with a letter they provide me for my marriage visa. We have submitted all this info, Marriage certs, letters from family, bank statements, birth certs for son, letters and pictures with family in UK and their visits here.... etc etc.....

Just wondering if anyone else had applied for this same visa, and how long before a decision was made ? I appreciate every case is different, its just the last application was so quick in being approved .... Any ideas ??

Cheers.

Going to BKK next week for exact same.

Will let you know when it is returned, LOL

Joking aside I think it is much same timeframe as the 6 month visa.
