rocketmanbkk
Hi Ariving in BKK nexy week from LHR about 4pm. With all of the postings and delays entering BKK is it worth paying the 700bt for a comoany to fast track you through? Also, if you do pay but then need to queue I doubt a refund will be given!!! Any opinions? My company will pay the 700bt but if I still need to queue it's not worth it. Cheers
BBurns
Rock, 700 thb is worth it. If it works and you get through a bit faster then great. If not, then your only out about $15.00 USD. I was passing through just last week and it took me 1.5 hrs just to get to the desk. The month before when the bombings went off on 14 FEB I was in line for over 2 hrs. So in short the answer is YES. rocketmanbkk
Hi There is a company called Bangkok Flight Services. Google them, 700bt meet and greet fast track. No electric golf cart but can be arranged for you. They do the usual, meet you at aircraft doors, take you to immigration, get bags and through into arrivals. 700bt. badcdn
I would hold on to your money for the moment. I was thinking about purchasing the same service except now I've read something in the Bankok Post and have also heard a rumour that some dimwit official thought it wise to shut down the fast track lanes and place those customs officers onto the regular lines. I'm waiting for something official before I buy. I will be contacting Bangkok Flight Services for and update and will post their response.
rocketmanbkk
I emailed them earlier, unfortunately on my arrival date they now say they are too busy to deal with me! Here's to joining a queue. Ah, what a lovely thought after 11 hours on the big bird! Never mind, the 70 or so extra riot staff will sort things out I hope by next week. Ah, what a lovely thought after 11 hours on the big bird! Never mind, the 70 or so extra riot staff will sort things out I hope by next week. I got the same email response. The rep mentioned something about a big company meeting, not enough staff to deal with my request, despite the fact I arrive at a date after their meeting, they're unavailable. So far no response to my detailed inquiry. From the Bangkok Post.... "Suvarnabhumi airport director Somchai Sawasdipol said fast-track immigration booths for first-class and business-class passengers would be removed so staff there could help handle regular passengers during peak hours." http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/transport/284077/police-called-to-help-man-desks

badcdn
let me know if you get a respnse mate cheers That seems to be the only response from Bangkok Flight Services above. I email another service, Bangkok Fast Track. This is what they said..... "that was referring to fast track voucher! Nothing to do with my fast track service because we are escorting service! And we uses our fast track lane!!" I don't think I'll be trying out any of these services until I know exactly what's going on.

badcdn
In the end I didn't need the Fast Track service. Short wait coming in and even shorter on the way out. So thank you BFS for not being available to provide your service, you helped me save money. Amazing Thailand.
bangkokburning
fast track - what a horrible idea. break a system - then get people too lazy or monied to pay to avoid that system what a scam and you lot feed that beast - for shame, really. badcdn
It's not unlike paying for the express service for your dry cleaning or the rush service on your passport renewal. I have a Nexus card here are home. I was through immigration in less than a minute, even though the wait for my luggage was an hour. Now there's a system that's broken. Aside from the wait for luggage, I would say the Nexus fee was money well spent. Edited April 23, 2012 by badcdn

You mean like using toll roads rather than the regular roads....... Don't like it don't pay but don't criticise those of us who do. If I flew 2 or 3 times a year I may not bother and would join the queue with everyone else but flying frequently like I do it is great and 99% of the time covered by my Business Class fare. bangkokburning
It may be like using a toll road if like in California you simply decide to cut the taxpayer funded road in half and then start charging for it. If the toll road was purchased land and a road that did not exist prior, then it is nothing like a toll road. You are part of the problem - but go ahead and pay, please. And please pay for Business class as well. That is what Thailand has become. Sadly.

Those of us here still earning and using Business Class are more the kind of people wanted as opposed to the cheap Charlie's . Many many cities have fast track because they are the kind of people that are wanted in country with minimal hassle. However I guess you are from the USA where all non WASPS are treated like cattle and herded around, just wait till the TSA get cattle prods if they don't already have them. Many business class visitors are usually on tight schedules for one, prefer not to add to the already long time consuming queues and willingly pay for the facility along with extra inflight comfort. I don,t subscribe to the cheap charlie mind set and think it is insulting in this instance and demeaning to say the least. I do not think I am better than those who fly economy, just fortunate to be able to pay the extra and no I am not a business person. You wouldn,t believe some of the self important passengers in this class who really do think they are better, can be obnoxious individuals and are in many cases subsidised by companies, tax perks ect. ect. marshbags P.S. You can purchase enhanced services in many areas with no problem and so long as it isn,t at the expense of others, good luck to those who can afford it. It has never been a problem from my experiences and keeps the long queues shorter at the immigration check points. Do not believe it helps dispersing the officer or two who usually do this duty as in my experience it usually does not.
