rachit85
Hi, I am about to buy a second hand condo in Bangkok. Owner told me that Land department will only accept sale and purchase agreement in Thai language. I am not really excited about signing documents in Thai language. I already have one bad experience with Bank when signed a document in which my name was written in Thai and I did not even know. Does anyone have experience if land department accepts English contract or if there is any authority who can translate to English and certify that both English version and Thai version are same document. Thank you for any advice. - Rachit
ballbreaker
Before you sign any contract that is Thai language get it translated into English and problem solved. If you choose the right lawyer to do the work should not be a problem. Edited March 15, 2012 by ballbreaker
rachit85
Thanks for the response. I did not mean tht i need copy for my understanding. I mean if there is any govt. Agency whose translation is legally accepted. I want translation authority to translate title deed and attach english copy along with thai copy and saying both of them are same. So is there any authority who can certify tht english version is same as thai version. Posted with Thaivisa App http://apps.thaivisa.com
rachit85
ok. I found the answer. There is translation center on the ground floor of Ministry of foreign affairs. Once translation is done u submit the document to MFA and they will legalize them.
