Zen
If my staff's normal work hours is 10am to 8pm with 1hr lunch break and 1 hr dinner break, that means he works 8hrs on a normal day. If he works until 9pm, he gets 1hr overtime. Now the question is, if he takes leave for 3hrs say from 3pm-6pm, can i deduct his pay for 3hrs AND/OR not pay him Overtime even though he worked till 9pm, but he didnt work more than 8hrs. bobdown1
Yes you can deduct the 3 hours. Labor law is clear on this. However if he/she is a good worker and they arent doing this on a regular basis you may wish to let it go and pay him/her but let them know why u arent deducting it otherwise it will be a free for all rgds mark
