Step Down Transformer

Are you sure that is what you need? I know what a step down transfer is but you have to specify what input voltage you have and the output you want. As the normal voltage here is 230v it would be very hard to step it down to 750v. :o

Yes...sorry...a 750 W transformer .

I have some NTSC equipment that uses a lot of power and need to run it in Thailand etc.

If it's electric related and you're in Bangkok, best bet is Dtalat Ban Mor (Ban More Market) in pra nakorn district (near china town) Everything from transformers to motors to solar cells to batteries, stereos, and all the individual components as well

If you can't find it there, atleast all the parts to make it yourself will be available. Get a schematic from the internet, and if you yourself don't have the skills, give the schematic and parts to a technician there and he'll have it done for a small fee.

There loads of those guys there on the street sides (kind of like the shoe polishers elsewhere in bkk)

Cheers

I bought a 400 W transformer at True Value hardware on Sukhumvit Road Pattaya. They had bigger ones and smaller ones.

OK if the load is 750w  then you will still need to know the input and output voltage before you can order one.

Since he indicates NTSC equipment I suspect he wants a 220V to 110V step down transformer. However he needs to be sure that 50Hz vs 60Hz will not be a problem.

Any large hardware store such as HomePro or department store handware section should have them. You will probably want a 1,000 watt unit if it is the normal made in Thailand model as they tend to be over rated. You will often find them in metal cabinets with meters to show voltage and a step switch to adjust.

Ban Mor is indeed the place to find electronics if you need special items but transformers are rather common.
