bettiebebop
Bit of a strange request but I have a craving for grilled bananas, the type that come in their natural shape not cut up, put on a stick and squashed down. Anyone know where they have these?

ARISTIDE
If you mean Thai style with coconut cream thing ,a good one I know is or used to be opposite the Suendok Hospital near the pedestrian crossing but don't know if they're still there. Later found this one and they mention they used to be opposite the Suendok Hospital. http://www.facebook.com/bananastory.at.donjan

ARISTIDE
So the one I suggested wasn't the one you want? Any suggestions more exact than everywhere? I have looked in several markets..
Semper
Somphet, warawot, san pa khoi, thanin. Maybe I go on unlucky days if they are everywhere? Maybe the wrong time of the day? Anyway, you could try using a toaster. About 200Baht, and you can use it for other purposes too. I'm not joking with you, just put the bananas on top (not inside) of the toaster and turn them around once in a while until done.
uptheos
Somphet, warawot, san pa khoi, thanin. Maybe I go on unlucky days if they are everywhere? Wow - all for a grilled banana. Keep trying I'm sure you'll find them one day.
eyecatcher
my lady makes her own, but not grilled. with the bunches of bananas that have been on the top shelf for a week, she then peels each one, cuts it in half and flattens them and then a light coating of honey and hangs them out in a flat basket to dry them. after about 4 days and assuming the squirrels didnt find them, they are hard and crisp just like the ones you buy in the packets...so she eats them like biscuits. as for me, i wont touch them, on the basis that it sounds disgusting! Semper
Went to Muang Mai market today and there was a lady making "grilled banana". If you enter the market opposite the US Consulate, you'll find your bananas 50 meters on the right side.
