The Ants Are Driving Me Crazy!

I live in a studio apartment with no kitchen and yet I still have ants in my apartment. They appear to be trailing up to my aircon switch so I can only assume they're nesting there. They're just EVERYWHERE and driving me crazy! Most of them are really small but I have also seen some bigger black ones with bigger bodies.

They're even crawling on my bed and on me when I'm sleeping and it wakes me up! *shudders*

I take my trash out everyday to minimise food being in the apartment but they still won't bugger off! I've even cleaned my apartment top to bottom, using bleach and all sorts but they came back within 24 hours!

Whats a good way to get rid of them for good?!

Ant poison. comes in a green box.

If they are only getting in one way see if you can use expanding foam (comes ina spray can with a little hose) to seal the gap.

If the Pit Mot doesn't work your other options are to get some gekos or, embrace your newfound insectoid flatmates and train them to do usefule chores.

I lived in Hua Hin South of town when it was undeveloped for many years. I remember reading that there were more than 800 species of ants in Thailand. My kitchen backed up against a jungle. I had just about all of species of ants in my kitchen. The worst ones are a very tiny red stinging ant. There is one rather medium size one that will swarm a piece of leftover food in minutes. Outside where I parked my truck under a large tre were the dreaded (Moht Daeng) red ant these are large biting ants that had a huge nest made of leaves that the neighbors and my wife would harvest to eat from time to time. I'm not sure how old you are , but it reminded me of the movie "The Naked Jungle" I watched as a kid. It is something I learned to live with. Coming from the Southern USA I am used to a lot of bugs. I used to buy the spray. You know the one in the red and yellow can, and use the ant chalk that is available at any thai market or shop. It is very effective. The main thing is to keep your kitchen very clean and not leave any food laying around. It is all part of the experience of living in a Tropical country.

Yes, the ant chalk is great. I rented a condo in KL and the ants were bad in the kitchen. Drawing a few lines with the chalk solved that issue. I have also used the gadget seen in post #3 in a Bangkok apartment that had issues with ants coming into the bedroom from the patio. Worked great. HomePro usually has both types in stock.
