Tourist Visa From Australia (2 Months)

Next Nov I'm hoping to come to Thailand for 6 weeks-2 months. I can stay for 30 days without a visa.

In your experience (or to your knowledge) is it easier to apply for a 2 month visa in Australia at an embassy here, or to get an extension once you're in Thailand?

Get yourself a Single Entry Tourist Visa from your local Thai Consulate before leaving it/ll give you an initial stay of 60 days when you land and if needed can be extended locally by 30 days (fee 1900 baht).
