(For the purposes of this discussion, I'll define Europe as the EU and UK). You don't spell out what you think is wrong with Europe's immigration system. Wrt the labour market, the EU functions in almost exactly the same way as the US. Someone from, say, California wants to work in New York. They have two choices, either find a job before they set off or go to NYC and seek work as soon as they arrive. Unless you tell me otherwise, it is pretty much as simple as that. Same thing for, say, a Bulgarian looking to work in Madrid. Sort it out before setting off or sort it out when they get there. Unfortunately, since Brexit we UK nationals are no longer able to take advantage of this system which limits opportunities for both workers and employers.
