German arrested by Police in North Pattaya, accused of theft in Koh Chang

PATTAYA:--A German National was arrested by Immigration and Transnational Crime Suppression Police in a joint operation on Friday.

He is accused of stealing items from a Hotel room on Koh Chang in Trat Province on 28th April.

According to arrest warrant number 47/2555 dated 4th May, Mr. Bernd Andreas Schmiedinghoff aged 34 is accused of illegally entering a room at the Baan Poo Guest Hotel on Koh Chang and stole items belonging to its foreign occupant, including his credit card which was later used fraudulently to purchase items on the Island and in Pattaya.

100,000 Baht’s worth of items were purchased during the 6 days he was in possession of the credit card. Immigration were able to to track the suspect to the Palm Garden Resort in North Pattaya where he was arrested on Friday.
