A second nuclear inspector from Slovenia and an Iranian driver were injured. The accident happened at around noon local time when a vehicle carrying the two IAEA inspectors and their driver skidded off the road and overturned near a heavy water reactor which is being built in Khondab, a county in Markazi province. It was not immediately known what caused the accident."The Agency has been informed that two of its safeguards inspectors were involved in a car accident in Iran earlier today," an IAEA spokesperson said, confirming one inspector from South Korea was killed while another from Slovenia was injured. His or her condition was not immediately released.South Korea's Foreign Ministry, which said an Iranian driver was also injured, confirmed a 58-year-old national was killed in the accident. A statement from the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), which identified the South Korean as Ok-Seok Seo, offered its condolences to the victim's family. The accident comes just days ahead of a meeting between Iran and the IAEA at its headquarters in Vienna regarding Iran's nuclear activities. While Iran has repeatedly stated that its nuclear program is for the peaceful purpose of providing energy, many countries contend it is seeking to develop nuclear weapons and may be close to obtain them. tvn.png
