Le Méridien Versus Imperial Sheraton Kl

Featured Replies

Thanks to beano2274, again, we are flying, cheap, to KL last week of June

Actually, I intended to go there for the afternoon, flying back the same day but when I decided to change my dates doing the booking I forgot to change the return date...stuck then with the ticket I decided to buy a second one and go there on a romance trip landing at 7PM on Thursday, leaving KL at 9 PM on Saturday

Doing that, I also took a hotel award (stupidly I took the cheapest one not realising I had an other set of hotels in the area) and ended up with a choice between Le Meridien and Imperial Sheraton

Knowing that we already know KL and we like reel swimming pools, comfy rooms and walking around in search of local food, which OF THE TWO, would you go for?

Thanks for your help

Meridien next to kl sentral train station. Convenient for airport rail link, sky rail and underground. Not much else walking distance from hotel

Sheraton is older style, closer to klcc area but you will still take skyrail or taxi to get around

If your awards are Starwood, you should stay at Westin. Better hotel. Next to pavilion shopping and 15 min walk to twin towers. Also close to other restaurants and bars

Thanks

Unfortunately, as I said, I did get the wrong certificate allowing me only these choices

How about the swimming pools and the rooms?

If there is a tube station then it doesn't matter where we stay

have only stay a the meridien in KL. it is by far the LEAST impressive i have ever stayed in. le meridien has a certain level of quality i've grown to expect and this particular hotel does not have it. it is older and the rooms show it. lame would be the word that comes to mind. i was there 4.2011. the only good thing was you get to use the gym for the hilton (i believe) next door- and that was an awesome full gym- best i've ever seen in a hotel.

Thanks

I guess that wraps it then

I'll go for the Imperial

Well both are really luxurious and glamorous and its really difficult to compare. But if want to stay near the Sairee beach then the Koh Tao Villa would be perfect. I have stayed there for couple of times and its really worthy.

I have stayed at all 3 properties.

They are all very nice .

My heart stays with the Westin .

Being SPG Plat I get constant upgrades to a suite , the club lounge is great and has a nice breakfast and evening cocktails.

The location cannot be beaten.

PREGO is also the best italian rstaurant in town, and Q.ba rocks as well.
