Thailand to open consulate general in southern China

BANGKOK: -- Thailand will open a new consulate general in southern China early this year.

The country's new consulate general will be set up in Nanning, the capital of China's southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to a news report of XINHUA News Agency.

It will be officially opened after the Chinese New Year later this month.

Thailand would, therefore, become the third country to set up a consulate general in

Nanning, after Vietnam in 2004 and Cambodia in 2005, said the XINHUA news report, disseminated to TNA on Sunday.
