Quiet Break Near Trat

Featured Replies

We have just spent a few days in the Centara resort near Trat, if any Members want/need a quiet break this is certainly the place. It is about 50 km's east of Trat towards the Cambodian border, the border is another 50 km's east of the resort. It took exactly four hours to drive from Bangkok, great roads, hardly any traffic. The resort is clean, very quiet and has a very very quiet beach, no jetski's, no banana boats, no hawkers, no massage ladies etc etc. The resort and beach are fine for both children and the elderly as it is flat everywhere and the beach is a few minutes walk from any of the rooms. There are no shops or restaurants in the surrounding area, so eating in the hotel is the only option unless you bring your own food and beers, wine etc. Thai food is very good, western food is not so good, drinks are expensive, staff are okay,If you want to relax and get away from it all then this is certainly the place, but if you are after bars, nightlife etc then forget it!

Thanks mate. Will give it a try smile.png

Is there a link to this Centara resort?

Now you have told everyone the place will soon turn into another Pattaya!giggle.gif

We went there in March when we had friends visiting from the UK, we enjoyed our stay very much, very relaxing even though the drive was pretty long.

We were initially concerned when the tide brought in a lot of junk, then we saw the hotel staff cleaning it up.

We were also disappointed with absence of local restaurants, we thought we would have to eat the high priced on site, we did eat on site but thought the food to be very reasonably priced.

We stayed for three nights and enjoyed our stay very much.

Ensongo have an offer on at the moment, their website is only in Thai now, a marketing blunder in my view, but seems you can buy vouchers for the hotel at 1,900 Baht a night, including breakfast.
