Hi folks Im an American student who has just spent the past 3 months studying at Rangsit University just outside BKK in Muang Ake (near Don Mueang and Pathum Thani). Im majoring in International Business and Sport Management, and was able to complete the International Business degree with my studies here.

The only thing left for me to complete on the sport management side of things is a 480 hour internship doing something in the field of sports. This could be marketing sports to the faranag/expatriate community here in BKK, writing english language copy for a Thai sports team, doing promotional work at high profile foreign areas in an effort to drum up business for a thai sports concern, basically anything.

I was wondering if anyone had any contacts or any wisdom they could share on teams or sports venues (could do facility management like at Bectero or along those lines as well) that would be willing to have a farang do 480 hours of ABSOLUTELY FREE work for them? (I have targeted the Royal Bangkok Sports Club so far)

Any help would be appreciated, my flight is coming up very shortly and I would like to extend my stay here in Thailand. It makes much more sense for me financially to do a free internship here rather than trying to pay rent in a large American city for free work. (Seattle is where I live back home)

I have extensive experience working in both sports (manager of course services for a private golf course in the USA, and in marketing and business operations for Boeing, the airline manufacturer.)

Again this would be absolutely free and I would be doing this under the supervision of both Rangsit University (2 credits) and my home institution Washington State University (12 credits)

resume and any other information is avaliable from me at [email protected]

Thanks for any help you can offer,

Michael Carman

I know of a sport that could use more coverage in Thailand. In this sport they take some skin from a pig and then they have a pack of huskies and a den of cougars fight over it. Seems like the dogs almost always win.....I guess it has something to do with natural superiority or maybe superior good looks and sharper wit. It might take you 480 hours to figure out just exactly why the Huskies are superior....given where you're starting from.
