My daughter is looking for a Dual SIM 3G android mobile phone , so far this model seems to be the best specification I can find for the money , i-Mobile looks to well represented when Ive looked around the IT Malls , just wondering what you guy's think about the specification and brand of the phone ?

Just remember it only supports 3G on the first SIM slot. The second SIM only works for GSM. ( read first paragraph of description carefully)

Looks very similar to the Alcatel 918D I have just bought my wife in Aust, cost $AUD 100. Works brilliantly as good if not better than my iPhone 3, has voice dictation for her to compose text messages, saves trying to type in English

Are there any other brands/models which meet your requirements? Are you comparing this against some other model?

Dual-SIM phones seem to be a bit of niche market/requirement. It seems like most people who utilize multiple lines/SIMs have two phones, or simply forward one SIM to the other and field/originate calls on one phone.

A family friend recently got a Samsung Galaxy Y Duos (5,600) but that has a screen closer to 3". It's actually a pretty nice phone. The dual-SIM/dual stand-by feature is impressive.

No real thoughts about brands , the i-Mobile i698 seems to have a decent screen size for the price smile.png

I do not have the Imobile but I have used it for a few minutes at the shop and I gotta say it seemed ok for the money. Runs 2.3 screen was smooth. I think give it a try.

I'm using a Wellcom A90+ its an ok phone for 4000b but lacks memory so I have to keep clearing memory.

When you know its easy enough :D

Wellcom buys their phones from a wide range of suppliers. That is the problem. The A99 is a Huawei phone and battery life is not great. The A90 is a chinese tin shack no name phone and is surprisingly well made (if they just had more ram memory and a slightly better screen resolution)

The Imobile screen is great by the way.

If I was in Thailand the Samsung Galaxy Duos GT S 6102 is the pick. 3G on both SIM, wifi Hotspot (so can use one SIM on 3G for this), longest talk time, screen about the same size as others and its a Samsung. We have Galaxy S and S2 they are reliable and good touch screens.

A 3.14 inch screen low resolution screen is no where near as good as the I mobile. Or even my Wellcom.

Also are you sure that both sims are 3g at the same time (good if it so)

On the Samsung Galaxy Y Duos I played with, briefly, you have to choose which SIM's 3G connection to use at any one time; you cannot use both simultaneously, in case that wasn't obvious.

Further it was 900/2100 Mhz 3G so limited to AIS/One-2-Call; not sure anyone really wants a TOT SIM ;) , and not much advantage to having two 3G accounts in most cases.

I didn't really test all the permutations of voice and data so am not sure what can be done? I had to select a SIM to originate a call, but could answer in-coming calls on either SIM without making a selection, but not simultaneously, as far as I could determine.

There's a dual sim version of the Galaxy S2 for the Chinese market which might turn up at some point. There are also adaptors that convert single sim phones, but mine is stuck in the post so I can't vouch for it yet.
